Timber Harvesting Basics

Interested in exploring how Brownlee Lumber Company can help you manage your standing timber? This page is designed to give you an idea of how BLC will work with you to put together a plan for timber harvest that will bring you profits today and a plan for stewardship of your timber for years to come!

The first step in exploring Brownlee Lumber Company's management of your standing timber lot is to fill out our Timber Harvest Inquiry Form. The information you provide us will then be forwarded to one of BLC's forestry staff.
The forester who is assigned to your inquiry will then contact you for an appointment to come to your property, where he will determine what harvestable timber is standing on your lot by "cruising" the timber (doing a survey of a sampling of the timber).
Based on that survey, you and BLC's forester will determine whether to proceed with a timber harvest. If you decide to move ahead, BLC's forester will mark the trees to be cut, and make you an offer for the timber. Upon your acceptance of our offer, we will then be able to produce a contract for your approval.
Once the contract is signed, we will go to work to harvest your timber according to the terms set out in the contract. Then you're on your way to a potential source of income for the future, and to a responsible management of one of our greatest God-given natural resources!
